Not all dryness is created equal. Here’s how to tell what your feet are actually asking for.   Hydration and repair are often used interchangeably, but they’re not the same thing. Hydration Hydration adds moisture to the skin, helping it feel soft and comfortable. Repair Repair focuses on strengthening the skin barrier so it can hold onto that moisture. Dry feet usually need both. Hydration alone may feel good short-term, but without barrier support, dryness comes back quickly.   That’s why daily, consistent care matters more than occasional heavy treatments.

Cracked heels are common too — but they’re not something you should ignore. What’s normal? Mild dryness, rough texture and occasional flaking are all normal, especially in cooler months or if you’re barefoot often. What’s not? Deep cracks, bleeding, pain or splits that don’t improve with regular care.   If cracks are painful or recurring, it’s time to see a podiatrist. Over-the-counter products can help maintenance, but severe cracking often needs professional treatment.  Foot care should feel comfortable — not painful.
