How to Build a Foot Care Routine (That You’ll Actually Stick To)
Stacey Power
No 12-step routines. Just foot care that fits into real life.
Let’s be honest: most foot care routines fail because they’re either too complicated, too time-consuming, or feel like a chore. And if something feels like a chore, it’s not going to last.
The good news? A solid foot care routine doesn’t need to be complicated. In fact, the best routines are simple, repeatable and realistic. Here’s a podiatrist-approved approach that works in real life.
Step 1: Exfoliate (2–3 times a week)
Exfoliation helps remove dry, built-up skin so your foot cream can actually do its job. Use a gentle scrub or pumice stone on damp skin — never aggressively, and never every day.
Step 2: Hydrate (daily)
Apply foot cream daily, ideally after showering when skin is warm and receptive. Focus on heels, balls of the feet and anywhere that feels tight or rough.
Step 3: Lock it in
Socks after cream aren’t optional — they help seal in moisture and improve results overnight. That’s it. Three steps. No 12-product routines. Just consistent care that adds up over time.
