Why Exfoliation Matters — And How Often You Really Need to Do It

More isn’t better. We break down when, why and how to exfoliate your feet without overdoing it.
Exfoliation is one of the most misunderstood parts of foot care. Too little and dryness builds up. Too much and you can irritate the skin.
The goal of exfoliation isn’t to remove all dry skin — it’s to gently refine the surface so your skin stays comfortable and functional.
How often should you exfoliate?
For most people, 2–3 times a week is enough. Daily exfoliation can actually trigger more dryness by disrupting the skin barrier.
What should you use?
A gentle scrub or natural pumice stone works best. Avoid harsh blades or aggressive tools unless advised by a podiatrist.

Think of exfoliation as maintenance, not punishment for dry feet.
